Copper Street Capital LLP UK Stewardship Code Disclosure
Under Rule 2.2.3R of the FCA’s Conduct of Business Sourcebook, Copper Street Capital LLP (“Copper Street” or the “firm”) is required to include on this website a disclosure about the nature of its commitment to the UK Financial Reporting Council’s Stewardship Code (the “Code”) or, where it does not commit to the Code, its alternative investment strategy. The Code is a voluntary code that sets out a number of principles relating to engagement by investors with UK equity issuers.
Copper Street pursues an event-driven investment strategy with a Financial Services sector focus. The firm’s principal investment management activity involves investing and trading in debt securities, derivatives, equities and credit across global developed markets. While the firm does trade single equities such trading does not represent a significant proportion of the firm’s overall investment management activity. The code is therefore relevant to a very limited aspect of Copper Street’s activities.
While the Firm supports the general objectives that underlie the Code, Copper Street has chosen not to commit to the Code. Copper Street’s approach to engagement with issuers and their management in all of the jurisdictions in which the funds and account-holders invest is determined on a case-by-case basis. Consequently, Copper Street does not consider it appropriate to commit to any particular voluntary code of practice relating to any individual jurisdiction.
